My name is Roscoe.
I'm three and a half years sober - meaning I have not used any drugs or drunk any alcohol during this time - I’m a father to a wonderful son and I publish (almost) daily content talking about the chaos & clarity of addiction, recovery and life with an aim to help you to improve all aspects of your life using my experiences as a backdrop.
Prior to sobriety, I was an ‘alcoholic’
I started drinking alcohol at the age of 13, however, I really ramped it up when I was 16/17.
By the age of 20, I was partying every weekend and had started using drugs, watching porn and having a lot of casual sex.
People close to me were starting to get concerned.
Then at 21, I lost my Mum to cancer (I'm in my late 30s now) and this loss formed a deeper destructive relationship with booze, among other things, and I “went off the rails”.
Side note: My drinking and drug-taking may have been different to yours BUT I can almost guarantee that the thoughts, emotions and feelings I experienced were very similar and will likely resonate with you.
This is what a lot of my content is based upon - because it is the most honest I can be with you. I remember the feelings, emotions and thoughts more than the drunken debauchery and degeneration -although I do have some (good) stories to tell you.
After losing my Mum, I bottled up my thoughts, emotions and feelings and began to drink more and more, until over a decade later, I nearly took my own life.
Thankfully, I was saved from the hellish nightmare I was in, and although it took me one more attempt to get where I am now, I finally managed to get sober.
And I’ve not looked back.
Since getting sober a lot has happened in my life, from losing more loved ones to the day-to-day chaos of marriage and fatherhood, from the darkness of lockdowns, unemployment and laziness to the clarity of gratitude, nature and fitness.
I’ve been through a lot and I have a lot of advice, guidance and experience to share.
I have a lot of practice in forming better habits to level up your life and I’ve also had experience in running Men’s only groups - so forming a new premium community is very exciting.
